I can’t believe I missed this bit linked off the letters to the editor linked here:
What kind of nonsense is this that a person in Philadelphia can purchase even one gun a month? Police officers and innocent people are being murdered and wounded every day in Philadelphia. Why would civilians need to purchase more than one gun?
Damaris Martinez, Philadelphia
Of course, we’re told, when we suggest that “If they can ration to one a month, what’s to stop them from rationing to one a year? Or just one per person per lifetime?”, “That’s crazy gun nut talk! No one wants to do that.” Bullshit!
Not that I think anyone really cares, but I buy at least 2 guns every year. One gun on my birthday and another on the Fourth of July.
The better question is why not? I’ve oft complained that requiring any waiting period for someone who already owns a gun is stupidity to the nth degree. This shmuck’s question is along the same lines.
If I already have a gun, buying another one isn’t going to make me any more dangerous than I already am.

Not true! It makes you twice as dangerous. I’ve seen Chow Yun-Fat movies… I know what I’m talking about.
Not really. I’ll readily admit that if my right hand becomes disabled, you’re probably safe. I can’t hit the ground using my left hand, even taking gravity into account.
