News reports has it that John Edwards is leaving the race. Rudy is expected to bow out as well, and endorse John McCain. That leaves both parties narrowed down to two candidates. McCain is definitely not the best that gun rights folks could have hoped for, but the worst guy will be out. McCain most decidedly is the best on the issue of the moderate candidates, as I feel Romney will be more unreliable than Bush. I’m still not ruling out a protest vote for Ron Paul if my choice is those two.

I thought that Giuliani might actually be better than Romney on gun rights. Sure, his record is bad, but I thought RKBA-supporters could coerce him to complying with their votes.
It’s hard to say. Neither are friends of gun owners. Neither are gun guys themselves. Both have fucked gun owners in the past. I think Giuliani has a bit more political sense than Romney though. Romney you can never trust not to make another 180 if he thinks it would suit him. Giuliani I would trust to want to avoid doing another 180 on gun rights. Nonetheless, its’ good for gun owners that he’ll be packing to head back to New York where he belongs.
