Taking a look at the new Walther SP22, I notice this at the bottom:
Important Note: The SP22 is not available for sale in California. Void where prohibited by law.
I wonder if California’s laws in this matter, which seem to ban ordinary .22LR sporting pistols, is the kind of law that Ray Schonke finds to be reasonable. Kudos to Walther (and by association Smith & Wesson) for not subjecting the rest of us to California’s nonsense.
Actually, the original P22 is banned there. It is an assault weapons since it has a threaded barrel.
It’s kinda funny because when the CA DOJ first inspected they weapon, they approved it because they did not notice the threads. Then they issued a giant oops.
And with CA’s giant oops, anyone who had purchased the gun had to remove the it from the state or have the barrel extension permanently attached, or the it would be seized.
