How’s this for a walking psychotic contradiction:
But more charges await the 58-year-old man who authorities say has been frustrated by a lack of employment, a reduction of his food-stamp benefits and what he perceived as the liberal ruination of the United States.
OK, so you’re pissed off that liberals have ruined your country, and you’re pissed off that your food stamp benefits have been reduced. Quiz time: Which political constituency consistently cries foul when welfare benefits are cut or reduced?
Is it the liberals
He was a desparate man. He decided if he is going to end his life at least take out some that he thought had damaged the social fabric. Liberals.
That is a problem when we define people by their opinions. I do not know the beliefs of those that died or injured and they may be liberal or not. But they are human and he decided to ignore their humanity by concentrating on their assumed philosopy.

Yes. I’m having trouble distinguishing the shooter’s opinion from this guy though. Perhaps if he’s still hanging around he can explain to me why, in his philosophy, this guy isn’t a hero.
What this basically comes down to is that the shooter’s grasp on reality was weak, to put it very mildly. Unfortunately, that will no doubt be used at his defense, though I hope to limited effect.
O’reilly and Hannity went too far this time! Of course, this crime will be milked for political advantage. Nothing new.
“Because the semiautomatic weapon holds three shells, Adkisson had to reload after the initial attack. That’s when several church members grabbed Adkisson and grappled for control of the shotgun. They overpowered him and tied him with belts face down on the floor, apparently disrupting Adkisson’s attack plans.”
It is nice to finally see some fighting back, for a change.
It’s an all identity-politics cage-match. He’s been pitted by the drill-no-mores against the artificially limited options they are prepared to serve – because the bigger piece of the pie goes to Government.
Justice Scalia once noted that some very good people have very bad ideas. Once you accept that, life becomes more pleasant.
All I can say is that the guy couldn’t even off himself correctly.
When you screw up committing suicide, whatever the method, you know you’re a loser.
May I interject with one possible scenario, which wouldn’t excuse his actions but might help to explain them?
Is it at least possible that this obviously mentally unhealthy individual had a real cause for hating the far left, albeit blown out of proportion?
Is it possible that a general failure as a man, who nevertheless still thinks of himself as a good person–a man initially not especially political, and maybe even a bit left of center–may have been pushed over the edge by the nastiness and viciousness of the left-wing chattering classes?
Is it possible that he was toyed with by some DU type, who figured this guy was an easy man to bully? There are plenty of extremely vile left-wingers out there, who toy with people for no other reason than that they consider themselves Nietzchean supermen who are free of all that God stuff. Such a wicked act could have driven an unstable man over the edge.
I mean, maybe… but is there any evidence?
Just circumstantial…that is to say, their neverending attack on decent people. Remember, these are people who attack little girls and old women, and force Mexican women off the road, with small children in their cars, just for having Bush bumper stickers. These are people without conscience, without emotions, who would rather wipe out 100 million gun owners than admit that they are cowardly parasitic sex perverts.
I mean, maybe… but is there any evidence?
Sebastian, I am pretty sure that Ken’s answer amounts to “no, there is no evidence whatsoever, but it makes a good story.”
