On The Fuddies
Rustmeister and Peter comment on the term “fudd.” It’s hard to slur just one subset of a group with a term that’s really insulting to the whole group. There will always be hunters who don’t get it. Anyone who’s been around shooters enough knows there are some that also don’t get it. But there are plenty that do, and for those that do, I think we ought to have the courtesy of not smearing the whole group.
Right on Cue
A few weeks before the election, I posted this:
I can promise you the Brady Campaign is frustrated they are being stuffed in steerage for the entire election, but the Democrats are not abandoning gun control. If they win this November, it will tell them they don’t have to actually support the Second Amendment to win. It will tell them that all they have to do is pull the wool over those bitter, gun clingers eyes enough that they won’t check to hard to see what’s really behind the curtain. It will make them think NRA is a paper tiger if they can’t defeat the most anti-gun presidential candidate in American history.

They know how to spin the results in their favor. But we shall see whether the Brady Campaign really carries any weight with the new administration.

Looks like the ad that made the rounds last week is actually for real, and the new Glocks will be introduced at SHOT this year, and will be manufactured in the United States. I’ve added the Glock 36 to my wish list this year, possibly to replace my Glock 19 as my primary carry gun.
Chalk One Up for the Good Guys
I wonder whether the Obama transition team would consider this a productive way to deal with urban violence. Or perhaps they would have preferred the Barber be the one to get shot for not having enough money in his till.
One thing is for sure, that guy won’t be robbing any more businesses. Mr. Cross did what he had to do.
PETA Urging Junior Hunting Ban
In Arizona, they are trying to ban hunting for kids under 18:
“Teaching children to see others as nothing more than living targets has deadly consequences that can extend into the human population. We urge you to support legislation to ban children under the age of 18 from hunting.â€
PETA is the GOA of the animal rights movement. Under the new Obama Administration, it’ll be group like HSUS, which use much more clever marketing and fundraising schemes, and who set realistic and achievable goals, that we’ll really have to worry about. Nontheless, PETA is instructive as to how radical animal rights people think.
