State to state comparisons fail in that the crime season in Jacksonville, Miami, etc. is 12 months long. Northern cities will typically show a lull in their crime rates in the cold, winter months.
Comparing the six New England states, on the other hand, shows what anyone with half a brain should be able to deduce on their own.
