This unsafe shooting exhibition has been making the rounds. If it were me, I would have refused to fire until the cameraman got his ass off the range. No reason that shot couldn’t have been taken with just the camera downrange.

I had a brief glimmer of hope as it looked like the one guy had a “WTF” expression and wasn’t firing, but I think he simply fired quickly and wasn’t sure what to do next. I’d like to think that I would have raised a stink as soon as the guy got out there, but it’s probably 50-50 whether I’d have told the guy next to me not to fire either or just stood there gape-jawed at the stupidity.
Wow. People commenting on the video are defending it and calling it “cutting edge” training. Stupidest thing I’ve ever seen.
I would think that if you’re purposefully shooting at a target right next to someone, which goes against every standard of gun safety ever proposed, and accidentally hit and kill that person … I’m not sure you’re going to get off scott free. Sounds at least like negligent homicide to me — doesn’t matter if the guy wanted to be there or not.
I gotta wonder if this was staged and those were blanks. Still can’t believe that many shooters would be that stupid to let it happen. At the very least I would have tried to stop it and walked the hell out of there if it continued — probably called the authorities.
tacticalresponse.com – not the best recommendation for the school
I looked at the video again and noticed a few things. First, the target to the right of the cameraman (his left) went from having no holes to having a few holes, so live ammo was used. The target on the left, though, never gets any holes. We see three shots, but miss the beginning when others might occur. If you look at 00:19, though, there’s a little red flash out of the white shirt guy’s gun but the slide doesn’t move. Any idea what that could be?
The idiot who runs this school is this guy http://yeagerisscum.tripod.com/index.html
Of interest is the video linked here http://yeagerisscum.tripod.com/id9.html
You can see him about 28 seconds in..he’s the fat tough guy wannabe running for a ditch and leaving his wounded team member while everyone else fights for their lives!
No friggin way?!?! First time I’ve seen that. I take a lot of pictures, and I am not going to sit there and take any pictures.
Not enough money!
Why all the fuss? We all know he was perfectly safe, after all camera men are bullet proof. Think of how many “gun shows†you’ve seen where the gun is swung around so that picture is taken looking straight down the barrel?
What about the ricochet off the rock behind the cameraman the comes back and goes through his mush container?
