SayUncle notes that Goldman Sachs execs seem to be getting pistol permits in New York City. Good thing they are rich bank execs, because a New York City pistol permit costs 170 bucks every three years. Now, if they want a license to carry a gun, they have to be connected, but no doubt a wealthy bank exec will have no trouble. Ordinary Joes might have a lot more.

The author of the Bloomberg article had some misunderstandings about guns and permits. I set her straight in a polite sort of way.
It will be nice when an incorporation decision finally spreads NYCs system of discriminatory licensure wide open to court challenge.
I believe I heard that NYC is next on Gura’s list.
No, the cost is $340 plus fingerprints and photos.
Despite being in PRNJ, I’ll defer to NYC being the next recipient of a constitutional whupping; despite the absurd length of time, the paperwork to own is at least near to “shall issue”. (Bear is another thing, but one battle at a time)
I’m pretty sure those are just licenses to OWN a pistol. Carrying it would be right out of the question I believe.
