NGVAC & Starbucks: Picking the Wrong Fight

This is made of utter fail for our opponents Boycott:

Starbucks Boycott Fail

Congratulations to the folks at NGVAC, you’ve likely succeeded in being salespeople of the year for Starbucks Coffee. If this number keeps going up, Starbucks isn’t just going to ignore you’ll, they’ll tell you to protest them again so they can see another boost in sales that day.

Yes, that’s 6600+ people, and the number just keeps going up. Last night it was at 5900.

  1. I know I’m planning to stop by that day, even though I almost never go, not that I have anything against them.

  2. You know, I think we (the Pro RKBA Community) may have just found the right tactics to combat the Bradys. Oh yeah, I know the NRA and the SAF do great stuff on our behalf, but how many of us get to argue in front of SCOTUS or talk to Senators. But we can do some Grass Roots Activism, and get it out on the Web. Just do the Opposite of what they want and publicize it. They want a Candlelight Vigil? We give them one, but Armed and Ready. Boycott Starbucks unless they Kowtow and cough up Bucks to their Organization, like a Mafia Shakedown? Just show up and buy something. I’ll be there, Lord Willing, and I suggest we all take pictures of ourselves and post them all over the place, also. I’m also wondering what next bit of Craziness they are planning, ‘ cause this is Fun!

  3. Serious privacy issues keep me off Facebook. If I lived 100 miles from a few hundred violent and very “progressive” college professors I would not care – but I will be drinking a few cups of Starbucks that day.

    1. I had a reader suggest putting the two dollar bills in the tip jar, which I agree with. I’m not sure the $2 bill is going to make corporate pay attention, because it’s likely it’s only going to annoy the local cashiers and baristas… but no one will complain about any denomination in a tip jar, and it’ll still have the desired effect.

      1. I am going to go to 3 very close by Starbucks along Rt 3. I want to see if any ANTI asses are there handing out written crap!

I’m buying more stock, sensing a good 1st quarter.

  4. I sent an e-mail to their PR department, specifically thanking them for their stance. This is the response I got. Frankly, as a business, it’s one of the best stances to have:

Thank you for your feedback regarding Starbucks’ policy on open carry laws.

At Starbucks, we deeply respect the views of our customers and recognize that there is significant and genuine passion surrounding the issue of open carry weapons laws. We comply with local laws and statutes in the communities we serve. Our long-standing approach to this issue remains unchanged and we abide by the laws that permit open carry in 43 U.S. states. Where these laws don’t exist, openly carrying weapons in our stores is prohibited.

As the public debate around this issue continues, we encourage customers and advocacy groups from both sides to share their input with their public officials. We are extremely sensitive to the issue of gun violence in our society and believe that supporting local laws is the right way for us to ensure a safe environment for both partners and customers.

If you have any further questions or concerns that I was unable to address, please feel free to let me know.

    Warm Regards,
