Not shocked to read about this. Compared to the 70s and 80s crime in NYC is still low but I’ve heard before they have been cooking the books for years. I would like to see what kind of crime is being swept aside: violent or petty? Gun possession must be a noted “crime” in NYC. Talking to a guy who grew up in a horrible neighborhood in Brooklyn I was told everyone is packing but over 90% do so illegally because it’s so damn hard to be legal in NYC.
