From PennLive, on the Toomey-Manchin deal. Casey is naturally happy. Barletta is still dancing, and that’s a good sign. Dent looks like he might be favorable. Tom Marino came out solid against the Toomey-Manchin deal. I would suspect that if Dent is leaning toward the bill, then all the suburban GOP reps will as well.

We may have to call in the committee of the whole…
“Barletta pointed out that in 2010, nearly 16,000 fugitives and felons attempted to purchase firearms – a crime in itself – yet the Justice Department prosecuted only 44 of those cases.”
DAMN, I hate it when people who are supposed to be on our side make statements like that; in effect arguing for the efficacy of background checks “if only they were enforced.”
I’m pretty sure that majority of “fugitives and felons” who get flagged are people who don’t realize they disbarred from buying guns. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be bellying up to a counter and attempting it. And if their record is so minor or so far in the past that they’ve forgotten about it, and if they haven’t bought any other guns over the counter since earning that record, I really don’t think they should be disbarred. If only 44 cases were prosecuted, it’s probably because only 20 or so deserved it.
Doesn’t Barletta have any immigrants to chase or anything?
I’m pretty sure it went like this:
SCHUMER TO MANCHIN: “Bloomberg says were running out of time but he is not running out of money.”
MANCHIN TO SCHUMER: “I don’t know what else to do. None of these Republicans will cave. What should we do?”
SCHUMER TO MANCHIN, after getting off the phone with Emperor Michael: “Bloomberg says to throw Kathleen Kane under the bus.”
MANCHIN TO SCHUMER: “Great! I’ll call Toomey!”
MANCHIN TO TOOMEY: “Guess what I just heard from Bloomberg? Kathleen Kane is not running for the U.S. Senate in 2016.”
TOOMEY TO MANCHIN: “Hmm. That’s interesting. I’ll meet you at the boat!”
Look at the complete absence of messages from our GOP House & Senate Reps both in the State & D.C. and you get a sickening picture. They ducked. Reported on Boyscout kudos, Ice Cream Socials and Pancake Breakfasts. Fitzpatrick sent out such a horribly anti-2nd Amendment biased mini-survey that most people just ditched it (instead of pounding him, unfortunately).
Where was McIlheny? Quinn? O’Neill and the others from around Eastern Pa? Nowhere. So we have to insist they be “Primaried”. We will not give them the vote because we refuse the likes of anti-2ndA Schwartz(D) & Co. We must continue to put the PA/GOP on notice that we don’t give a rats ass if they, like Toomey “was just trying to do what he felt was the right thing to do…to take some action”. This is Democrat Liberal speak if I ever heard it. A puking RINO. We need a STRONG candidates at every level like Ran Paul and Sen Cruz to do the smack down of the century. Suggestions, welcome!!!
