Moms Demand Action may become Bloomberg’s Helicopter Mommies Merged with Illegal Mayors with the news that Bloomberg is merging the two groups now that he’s leaving office. Now the gun control women won’t just be known for anti-gun antics, but they carry the weight of Bloomberg and his attempts to control everything you eat and everything you do – just like a helicopter mom.

Wasn’t Bloomberg paying the meal tickets for Moms from Day one from the MAIG coffers?
They sprang up too fast to just be an upstart, and certainly Shannon Watts isn’t rich enough to fly her friends around to all these protests…
ummm, Shannon’s husband John Watts, is a former president of Wellpoint, a health care company that is owned by Blue Cross. He got millions when he was nudged out. . .. . . Shannon is rich
And in an exclusive scoop, Syrian rebels showed up with a representative video clip of Helicopter Mom’s ‘grass roots’ credibility immediately following the press release…

… so they’ll be called “Moms Demand Action Against The Guns of Illegal Mayors”
I’m ok with that.
It will be interesting to see how much traction they get with Bloomberg’s money both with the voting public and with those in office.
Gun control has the potential to be a deeply divisive issue for the Democrats going into the 2014 elections. With zealots like Shannon Watts pressuring them to ban guns thus making voting gun owners angry, they are in an unenviable position. Damned if they do, damned if they don’t.
For those of us who want to see overreaching statists loose their jobs, this could be a very good thing.
Personally, I think this would make MDA a bit easier to counter based simply on the connection to large, well-funded, out-of-state entities like Bloomberg and MAIG.
