Drudge is reporting that ABC News is turning their organization over to the White House:
On the night of June 24, the media and government become one, when ABC turns its programming over to President Obama and White House officials to push government run health care — a move that has ignited an ethical firestorm!
The media can’t finish circling the bowl fast enough for me. It’s a shame too, because I think journalism, real journalism, is still important and has a place in the world.
I think the media has always been polarized especially back in the Federalist v. Republican days circa 1800.
However, I’m wondering if the visual media (TV) has contributed heavily to what appears to be a general dumbing down in journalism. Now that you can show video of an event, such as rioting in Iran, for instance, you don’t have to write the accompanying article with sufficient descriptary prose to create a visual in the mind of the reader.
I concur. The gov’t already has all the cable news channels except Fox in their pocket (MSNBC is a farce!), and the broadcast networks are clearly sympathetic to the socialist tyrany. ABC’s actions aren’t really so much a deviation from the norm as it is a sign of how far left the media and public tolerance have already drifted. That’s why I own militia arms!
