Chris Byrne looks at a new book by Brian Litz, who is the chief ballistician for Berger Bullets, as well as National Palma Champion. Sounds interesting. I might have to get a copy.

It’s very well done. I highly recommend it. The best part of the book is the experimental ballistic data on most long range bullets that’s included as an appendix. He also does a pretty good job of explaining it in such a way that if you wanted to skip over the equations and such, you can still follow it.
I’ve been messing with some of the equations he gave to calculate a bullet’s form factor to see what the gain would be by using one of the new bullet-pointing dies. Neat stuff. And it comes with a ballistic calculator that makes use of the G7 as well as G1 drag functions. (Most advertised BCs use G1, but the G7 is a much better fit for long range bullets)
