Via a press release from State Representative Daryl Metcalf:
On November 8, 2007 a panel discussion was held in Philadelphia by The National Association of Women Judges entitled, “Separation of Powers: What Does It Mean?â€Â Governor Rendell’s wife, a federal judge and member of the panel, made a shocking statement that should have made headlines the following morning. Following her comments lamenting that there are issues that are not going to be resolved legislatively because they are so difficult, issues such as health care, immigration reform, social security and a national gun law, Judge Rendell stated, “Gee, a benevolent dictator would really be good right about now to, to put in health care and to put in some of these policies that we all want, but somehow the gridlock within the legislature makes it impossible.â€
It should be noted that Midge Rendell was placed on the federal bench by Bill Clinton in 1994, than elevated to the third circuit court of appeals by President Clinton in 1997. There are exactly the kind of people the Clinton’s like. That’s why you can count me in the anybody but Hillary crowd.
This is not an appropriate sentiment from a federal judge. God help us if the Clintons get another eight years of appointing the likes of Midge Rendell to the federal bench.
“Gee, a benevolent dictator would really be good right about now”
That really makes me want to throw my monitor out the window before picking up a blacksmith hammer to finish it off. If we are stuck with Hillary in office I have no idea as to what I will do. I kind of believe that it will be the deathblow for our country. No where to run to, no where to hide.
I think it was Lincoln who said you can’t really destroy it in 8 years. Of course, he didn’t mention whether it could be done in 16. I suppose we’ll get through 8 years of Hilly like we got through 8 years of bubba.
I think a Clinton Monarchy would do a lot of damage with another 4 – not to mention 8 years. Never thought I’d see the day when a Communist candidate gets consideration by the general public, but it looks like that’s what’s happening. Greater good indeed. I’d sooner vote for Kucinich.
Midge is almost as inept and corrupt ad Ed. And that’s really saying something.
“I suppose we’ll get through 8 years of Hilly like we got through 8 years of bubba.”
Thanks for the little bit of hope.
I can’t believe a federal judge would say that. (Unfurling black flag).
Who gets to pick the benevolent dictator?
The communist party, of course, should pick the “benevolent dictator.” You know, like, they care about “fairness” and “diversity” and “stuff.” Just like Mr. and Mrs. Rendell.
Well, technically, that’s what we do every 4 years on the 2nd tuesday in november. I believe the US has one fo the strongest Executive offices in the Western World. Remember that in the Westminster system, the Prime Minister is a legislator…
