I am not sure this would be a bad thing. I kind of like the idea of legislators increasing their vulnerability to something approaching the level they deem appropriate for others.
I say, let them pass it, let’s see how it works out for them. Some non law-abiding nut can then have a free shot at them (pun intended) just like at schools, banks, etc. in most places. However, there should be no exemptions for anyone. No legislator, no cops, no security should be allowed to carry there. Then they would be on a level playing field with most people in the country.
Somehow, I think they will find that unpalatable.
I realize that New Hampshire isn’t as restrictive of gun rights as most venues, but this looks a lot like the ambition to introduce a “slippery slope” to repeal that stance. Ergo, let the leaders actually “lead” on this. Let them lead by example.
I don’t think any of us will live long enough to see that.
