NRA is filing suit against Illinois’ total prohibition on carrying firearms. I have not yet read the complaint, but will take a look at it as soon as I have time. It’s worth noting that the Concealed Carry bill was pulled before all the votes were in, so it’s still alive. This presents a cash strapped state with two options. One option is to spend a lot of money fighting a lawsuit in the courts, the other is to pass the concealed carry bill, which will be a source of revenue. The choice is theirs.

Heh, and IL has never passed up an opportunity to drive away possible sources of revenue.
Chicago will spend as much money as is needed to deprive its citizens of their Constitutional rights.
NJ was given the same choice recently, and as Sterling Archer mentioned about Chicago, NJ is doing the same exact thing
Make that fighting lawsuits.
SAF filed Moore v. Madigan late yesterday in the Central District of IL.
The lead plaintiff in that suit is Michael Moore but not THAT Michael Moore. This guy was a corrections officer and deputy sheriff in Cook Co for 30 years and is now the Superintendent of the Champaign Co Jail. The latter job is not a sworn LEO so he isn’t allowed to carry anymore.
Good plaintiffs in both suits – a former LEO and a church lady who was badly beaten at the church by a robber.
The SAF lawsuit looks promising.

” This presents a cash strapped state with two options.”
Markie Marxist sez: “Actually, we Marxists always have at least two options. We rip off the taxpayers one way or another. It works for us! Ha! Ha!”
