Since gun news is slow, there’s a meme going around the gun blogosphere, here, here, here and here, of what’s been on your iPod the last month. I don’t have much to say there. My iPod looks more like Mitt Romney’s than Paul Ryan’s. I haven’t been listening to music much these past few months. I will recommend this album, which I recently got off iTunes, if you want some easy listening, and like the movie music of John Williams. I feel like changing up the meme a bit though, and suggest people reveal, “What’s your desktop?”
I have a dual-head display, so I get two pictures, depending on what monitor I look at. Both of these I took myself when we were out in Hawaii a few years ago. The main display is of Rabbit Island, just off Oahu’s eastern shore. The other display is the beach of Oahu’s North Shore, and isn’t far from where the Lost beach scenes were filmed. In fact, the “Others” village was walking distance behind me in this picture.
UPDATE: Not boring, fantastic.
UPDATE: This Desktop has gone to the dogs.
I have a colorized photo of the participants of the 1927 Solvay conference.

That’s awesome.
I have a hi-res of our day lilies from a year ago.

It’s like the Physics All-Stars.
Since Borderlands 2 and it’s 67 Bazillion guns are now mine I’ve switched to some Assassin’s Creed 3 style patriotism: http://yuiphone.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Assassins-Creed-3-Wallpaper-yuiphone-AC3-Logo-RWB-Wallpaper-HD-1920×10801.png
This game’s gone be sweet, I hear R. Lee Ermey is voicing one of the colonial generals.
I’m boring.
It’s usually plain grey or a black and white image.
“Boring” in the sense that the photo came pre-installed with OS X Snow Leopard, I should say, not something Iresearched and found on my own or something with sentimental value.
It is a heck of shot, though. Has a nice “Mount Williamson” thing going on.
A high rez version of Geddy Lee’s crotch.

2nd pic. I just liked the composition of old style mic with the bass, really. I’ve told Allen that if he ever needs a lens monkey to carry his stuff…
The mascot from my last military unit.
The raven is a crafty character.
I also have pictures from Hawaii, but not photos that we took. I rotate mine with various lava photos from USGS. Right now, this graces my desktop.
It has recently been this and this.
I have a picture of a wildfire I took from my back porch last year:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v320/Koloblicin/desktop_zps59de4ba7.jpg
It appears much closer than it is due to magnification and a 5 second exposure. The actual fire was about 30 miles away, though it burned several thousand acres.
My home desktop is a rapidly-rotating selection from webshots’ collections interspersed with pictures and images from various sources- and is usually not visible behind browser windows.
My work computer has this – http://www.harebrained-schemes.com.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/renraku_skyline-Copy.png
My tablet has this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dualboot.apps.springzen&hl=en
And my phone has a portal 2 inspired take on GlaDOS that I typed out of a third-party Sense theme.
Well, I run Windows 7 so I have rotating pictures. Mostly Oleg’s work, some of my own , but definitely all guns.
I have no music on my Iphone. I use Pandora always. I paid the money to take the 15 second commercials out and was money well spent!
I keep the a very boring desktop. The color blue. I never see my desktop as I always have tabs open from various Internet sites. My backdrop is whatever page I ended up on last.
I have a pic of an octave version of a ’59 Les Paul made by Frank OPine – 3/4 size but the scale length is 14.7″ (guitar porn for Robb!).
Ok … not Frank OPine … Frank Pine. Sheesh …
When I first got my Windows box I looked at the default desktops just to tide me over until I decided on an image.
As I was scanning them, and I recognized one of the shots.
They have Pemaquid Point Lighthouse in Bristol Maine. I’ve spent a lot of time at that lighthouse in various points in my life, and its an amazing shot, so there it is…and its a Windows default!
My desktop is a photo I took a few years back outside of Moab, Utah.

That’s a good one. Lots of good pics in your collection. Though it took me a second to realize that Indian statue was holding a feather :)
My computer desktop is just like my real desktop: plain black and covered in txt files. Also smudges and dirt.
Currently an anime-based bit of artwork I stumbled on.
Thanks for the link.
Ronald Reagan wielding an RPG atop a velociraptor carrying the American flag. Really. It’s a great picture, and makes me happy just to look at it.
