In the New Republic, and they ask him about gun control. From part of his non-answer:
So much of the challenge that we have in our politics right now is that people feel as if the game here in Washington is completely detached from their day-to-day realities. And that’s not an unjustifiable view. So everything we do combines both a legislative strategy with a broad-based communications and outreach strategy to get people engaged and involved, so that it’s not Washington over here and the rest of America over there.
No, Mr. President, the problem is that Washington is intruding way too much on our day-to-day reality, and that is the problem! We don’t fix this problem with more government. We certainly don’t fix it with more gun control. If Washington were detached from my day-to-day reality, I’d honestly prefer it over what we’ve been going through for the last four years, and appear to have four more years of in our future.

There you have it, but how to make it so?
Ha. You know what’d be awesome. Next time you run into one of these anti-gun politicians who have armed guards, in one of these gun free utopias… Come up to them, point at the guards, yell out “oh my god, he’s got a gun! Oh my god, everyone, he’s got a gun! He’s a mass murderer! Everyone, run away before this crazy lunatic inbred hillbilly rapist kills you!”. Then run away. That’d be awesome.
Altho he probably would kill you……..
Still… tempting.
Or, just call 911 and report a “man with a gun”.
“I’d honestly prefer it over what we’ve been going through for the last four years, and appear to have four more years of in our future.”
Not only 4 more years, but four more years of it in spades!
I think the next 4 are gonna make us wish for the last 4 again……
I agree. If *only* Romney could have gotten more votes!
(As much as I wasn’t thrilled with Romney, I was always bothered by the claim that he was Obama II. It’s far more accurate to say he was probably going to be Obama I, all over again…and *now* we get to see what Obama II is going to be like! Oh, the joy.)
All that’s missing from the interview is, “we must act fast!”
“My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.”
– Thomas Jefferson
“I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.”
– James Madison
“I think we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious.”
– Thomas Jefferson, Letter to William Ludlow, September 6, 1824
