It’s possible that former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin was Mike Bloomberg’s model Mayor Against Guns. Nagin organized a gun confiscation plan that he actually got away with for a little while until they city was taken to court.
Now, underscoring the need that Bloomberg had to get away from keeping his gun control brand associate with mayors, Ray Nagin has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for bribery and money laundering.
The New York Times, in its reporting on the story, left out the part where he’s a Democrat.
*imagines everyone’s shocked face*
He’ll be elected governor of Louisiana in 2024.
No chance of that, but he could most likely be re-elected mayor of New Orleans
I wonder if his new cellmate will take a drive down the Hershey highway on the way to Ray-Rays chocolate city.
They should have added charges of official oppression for his role in confiscating legally owned firearms.
Another dirty anti-gun democrat gone, now I really can’t wait till November!
Only 10 years? Just being a member of MAIG should be enough to get you 20 to Life!
I sincerely hope he’s able to find a nice husband inside who can give him ALL the love and joy he so truly deserves ALL the days of his sentences.
Nagin succeeded to a great degree in losing or destroying guns confiscated, I thought, though the City had financial penalties out of the whole mess.
What a steward of public money.
Enjoy it, Ray.
Nice to see our justice system worked for this guy. Despicable what he did…
