Obama gives the thumbs up to exploitation of tragic events for political purposes:
Of course, he also repeats the lie that mass shootings are more common in America than in other countries. Most of the statistics he mentions are basically all lies. We must continue to fight him. We must ensure he gets nothing;Â not one inch more of our rights. That battle will start in Oregon.
And note folks, when he throws out “Great Britain” and “Australia” as examples of “doing something” he’s talking about mass confiscation. There is no mixing words about that. Britain and Australia tried to solve the problem by making the most common types of firearms that people have in this country illegal, and then confiscating them from their citizens. Don’t ever let these people tell you they don’t want to take away your guns. Their words say otherwise.
Worthless bastard couldn’t even wait for the bodies to chill before he made political hay…
Really is scum.
You guys have your talking points down COLD. Seriously. I like it. Except that I’d hardly call a presidency waiting through the failure of any meaningful congressional debate after Sandy Hook and then a host of mass shootings thereafter as “not waiting” some significant portion of time. Bodies chilled … sure. Feeling righteous.
Where the heck did the Rampage Shooting Index go?
Your first link, to the relative number of “rampage shooting” incidents is fascinating. I’ve never seen the data collected that way before. All the links are dead, though – they just link to the Harvard Injury Control Research Center and say they “can’t find the page you’re looking for.”
I want to see the source data, how each country defines a “rampage shooting,” who does the data collecting, etc. I really like these numbers, and I want to be sure they’re robust enough before I go quoting them everywhere.
I’ll keep looking around Harvard’s site to see if the data are still there, but if anyone has any suggestions or already knows the sources, please share.
I made it to 1:14 and that’s all I could take of this asswipe. Sorry, but I just had breakfast and wanted it to stay down…..
And note that the Democrat panacea for gun violence has been universal background checks. He was wise enough not to mention that, or any other policy.
Hillary wasn’t.

Between her, Mother Jones, and other sources it seems that Oregon’s UCB law is being actively memory-holed.
Too bad be doesn’t act this tough when Vlad’s around.
Simple question,
When has he or his party not politicized a mass murder event?
When a Muslim committed an act of “workplace violence” at Fort Hood.
We need to counter with “Christian Lives Matter”
And note folks, when he throws out “Great Britain†and “Australia†as examples of “doing something†he’s talking about mass confiscation.
Australia did a mass confiscation scheme on all of said country’s legally owned semi-automatic rifles, shotguns, and pistols about 20 years ago.
Nowadays, this is what a serious TV news reader lady in Australia said just two years ago on a major Australian TV news broadcast:
“There’s alarm in police ranks over the number of machine guns being uncovered on Perth streets. Three of the fully automatic weapons have been seized in the past week. No one knows where they’re coming from, or how many more are out there.”
Watch this Australian TV news report here:

So, there you have it: The Australian government systematically confiscated all of the legal semi-automatic guns from all of the good people in Australia, all because the police in Australia knew the who and where about all of the legal semi-automatic guns, and less than 20 years later, the police in Australia have no idea how many illegal fully automatic guns there are in the hands of all the bad people in Australia.
And most of their “gun crime” involves home-made, cobbled-together guns.
And from a mechanical perspective, full-auto guns are easier to make than semi-auto or select-fire (i.e. capable of firing semi- OR full-auto) guns.
Their train of logic derailed a long time ago.
Australia is a country where many of the young people there have a fairly high standard of living. This in turn means that at least some of these Australian young people spend their money on illegal drugs in Australia, which is how Australia has wealthy drug dealers and wealthy drug smugglers who have the money they need to acquire whatever type of guns they want, regardless of what the gun laws in Australia say.
From what I have seen so far, some portion of the gun crime in Australia nowadays involves real-deal, semi-automatic pistols that have been smuggled into Australia from other countries of the world, either in whole or in parts. These are not “home-made, cobbled-together” guns by any means. These would be semi-automatic pistols that most of us here would recognize from what types of guns that we here in the USA have legally – Glocks and 1911’s, for example.
I don’t know much about how illegal Glock pistols wind up in the hands of Australian criminals in Australia, but I do know that there are literally thousands of men elsewhere in the Pacific region of this world – in the Philippines, that is, which is relatively not all that distant from Australia – who make their entire livelihoods by working in illegal jungle-based workshops, where they build from scratch rather decent quality 1911 pistols. These men typically get their raw materials from the scrap metals that typically come from the salvaged hulls and other parts of large ships. Most of these jungle-based illegal gun workshops in the Philippines are staffed by men who are all family members – fathers, sons, uncles, etc. – who start teaching the boys their trade by about age 12, which usually means that the boys become expert gunsmiths by about age 20. These illegally made Filipino 1911 pistols, in addition to other types of guns, are usually then smuggled out of the Philippines entirely. These Filipino guns then get smuggled into more prosperous countries such as Australia.
There is an excellent English-language video on Youtube about these underground gunsmith men in the Philippines that was produced by NHK World. You can see it here:

The excessive number of mass shootings is not a lie if you are merely counting the number and not the per capita number.
