That phrase does not make sense. Because of ONE politically-charged word. By dropping that one word into the description, it makes the whole thing a multi-layered lie.
The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State …

Well, you’d have to actually know what the words mean and why, and actually care about getting it right. When it comes to guns, most media are actively hostile to the idea of being knowledgeable, because gun knowledge is evil and occult that will corrupt, and no good can come from looking too closely. Staring into that abyss of those eldritch mysteries will tear your mind into pieces, surely as looking upon Cthulhu himself.
The narrative must procede, facts be damned!
It is a sad commentary that I had to go to the Daily Mail in London to get the story of the white person that was shot by the police. Then I had to go to the website of the local MN paper to find out more than the standard narrative from the MSM.
That’s rich. You criticize the media with your high capacity assault blog.
hypocrite.
:-)
Provided that the rifle had not been modified to hold more than two rounds in its fixed magazine, the Dallas police killer used a California-legal rifle. See this handy flowchart to decipher the Byzantine CA gun laws:
http://www.calguns.net/caawid/flowchart.pdf
The writer wrote, “the suspect was armed with a SKS…”
Grammatically, it should have been “an SKS” instead.
So, not only is the reporting inaccurate, it’s incorrect, too.
When the Cambodian guy went nuts in a Wisconsin deer blind and killed a bunch of deer hunters with an SKS a few years ago, it was described in every news report as an assault rifle. When an illegal alien gangbanger shot a bunch of ICE agents in California with an SKS, it was described as an assault rifle. I see three explanations:
1. SKSs get no respect.
2. Any rifle with a protruding magazine is an assault rifle. This probably includes Krags.
3. Reporters are lazy idiots with no knowledge of law or firearms and no incentive to learn.
The sks is an assault weapon in exactly the same way as the Ruger 10/22 is an assault weapon: there are sufficiently many aftermarket parts to make a regular sks fit the evil features test of the 94 awb.
Hence, all SKSs are assault weapons since someone somewhere put a picture on the Internet of their sks with a pistol grip stock, detachable mag, and bayonet.
