I guess when you collect safari guns, that run you 4 to 6 dollars per trigger pull, you learn a thing or two about how to sight in without going through a pile of ammunition.

Yup, about 4 bucks a round, if he’s shooting hornady in that 450/400. I came to largely the same method when I got the 375, and found out the going rate for ammo was north of 40 bucks a box..
Something to keep in mind: most rifles when sighted dead on at 25 yards, are also dead on at a little over 200(it varies with each different chambering, due to BC, velocity, etc) due to the arcing nature of a bullets trajectory, so getting on the X at 25 will put you close at 200 yards..
