Looks like Ace is back blogging again, and is now hitched.

The Difficult Balance
I was reading this excellent bit linked to by Insty:
Simon makes a strong point when he writes, “You want to have some ideology to hang onto, some method of organizing everything, but the moment you settle on one thing, if you’re even partially awake, it kicks you in the head.†The world isn’t so simple as to be efficiently run via a bumper sticker slogan. The problem, though, is figuring out where responsible trade-offs end and cheerleading for one’s team begins. It’s one thing to be an “adult;†it’s quite another to be a party hack willing to abandon all principle when necessary to defend the decisions of the leadership.
That’s a smart observation. I certainly hope if I start wandering too far one way or another, people will say something.
Troll Alert
Whoever is appropriating my name over here:
This Keepandbeararms.com thread, and this one too
That person is not me. I don’t know who it is.  Thanks to David for tipping me off to this.
More GBR Photos from Joe
Joe has some more photos, including my trials and tribulations with the packaging for our box of 6.8 SPC from Silver State Armory, who will probably be getting entirely too much of my money in the future as put rounds through my Ko-Tonics upper that I brought back from the Rendezvous.
Happy Blogoversary
To Jeff Soyer at Alphecca. This is five years for him. I think I’ve actually been reading him nearly that long. It was actually all the attention Jeff got from Glenn Reynolds that made me realize there was a gun blogosphere, which is how I found and eventually met Bitter. So thanks Jeff! I hope I’ll be linking to you in another 5 for your 10 year blogoversary.
California Burning
I hope Linoge and South Park Pundit don’t have all their earthly possessions burned to a crisp.  I also have a coworker in Southern California who may have to evacuate his new home that he just moved into.
Fires: One more reason not to live in California.
Ch..ch..ch…changes
I’ve made some minor modifications to the site. The first is to provide contact info on the side bar. It’s a graphic, to prevent spam bots from collecting it and spamming me. Uncle says a lot of people e-mail him stuff, and I realized “no on ever does that for me”, then I realized it might be because I don’t list my contact info anywhere. I also list Skype and GTalk, in case anyone would rather just talk live.
The second is to upgrade to WordPress 2.3. The third is, I’ve made some changes to some of the administrative features of my theme that had driven me bonkers for some time. You all won’t notice those. You might notice that exact time stamps are gone. Hopefully that won’t be annoying, but I have a good reason for doing that.
Blogroll Additions
I figure you spend some days with folks at GBR, they ought to be on your blogroll. Several were already, but a few I have been reading, but hadn’t gotten around to adding, so here we go:
Much to my surprise, I didn’t have The View From North Central Idaho on my blogroll. I thought I had added Joe months ago.
Anthroblogology
I also thought I had AnarchAngel on there already as well, but that’s another one I missed.
She didn’t attend the GBR, but she’s impressed me in a short amount of time, so I’ll add The Breda Fallacy as well.
I’d add Rob’s blog if he started blogging again :)
Project Valour-IT
Our guest of honor for the GBR was Chuck Ziegenfuss who was representing Project Valour-IT. Here’s a little about the project:
Project Valour-IT, in memory of SFC William V. Ziegenfuss, provides voice-controlled software and laptop computers to wounded Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines recovering from hand and arm injuries or amputations at major military medical centers. Operating laptops by speaking into a microphone, our wounded heroes are able to send and receive messages from friends and loved ones, surf the ‘Net, and communicate with buddies still in the field without having to press a key or move a mouse. The experience of CPT Charles “Chuck” Ziegenfuss, a partner in the project who suffered hand wounds while serving in Iraq, illustrates how important this voice-controlled software can be to a wounded servicemember’s recovery.
I plan on donating more to this charity over the next couple of months, and I will encourage others to do so here. If you make a donation, say so in the comments. You will have my gratitude.
More GBR Pics
Head over to Keewee’s. There’s a shot of me in the last picture. I’m second from the left, standing to the right of Larry Weeks from Brownell’s. USCitizen is to the right of me, followed by JimmyB, and Joe Huffman respectively.
