I Get to Be The Last

I guess being the last person to get back from GBR, I get to do a roundup instead of giving the direct account.  I still have more to talk about in regards to GBR II, in regard to our guests who came out with us, but that’ll be tomorrow after I’ve recovered.

Kevin blogs about GBR, and the shooting event we had on Saturday.

Uncle has his account.

KeeWee has a few thoughts.

Fodder starts off with some great pics, notices an unfortunate problem I hope he can fix, and gets the spoils in the end.  He also really liked the Ko-Tonics.

USCitizen of Traction Control uploaded some pics while at the range, and gave us a review of the Ko-Tonics upper.

Conservativ UAW Guy has a shot of the Ko-Tonics.

DirtCrashr has his account, along with some great pictures.

I’m glad Chuck enjoyed himself.  I will definitely be helping promote Project Valor-IT to others.

Joe Huffman talks about the range trip, blogs a great quote from Larry Weeks of Brownell’s.

Mr. Completely offers his own roundup.  I guess the lesson here is you stay late, you end up doing a round up :)

All in all, a great time.  Tomorrow I will talk about our guests and sponsors, who I think deserve some serious praise.  Let’s face it, none of them would come talk to us if we were just a handful of guys talking to each other.  They take blogs seriously because the take all of you who read us seriously, and I consider our successes with the GBR to be a victory for our readers as much as it is for us, and for that you all deserve praise as well for reading us.

GBR Blogging

Blogging might be kind of sporadic while I’m at the GBR. Brad and Ahab should still have posting rights. If they want to put up a few things I shan’t complain.

As always while at the GBR, I will be on Skype while we’re gathered as a group. My Skype name is “snowflakesinhell”.  Skype is free, and it can be downloaded at Skype.com

Recording of the Show

In case you folks missed the Ahab on Cam & Company, I have an mp3 of it here.  The quality sucks, because it’s just a recording of my MacBook’s mic.  If you listen carefully, you can hear AR-15 parts going together in the background.  At the end you can also hear Ahab calling me, and the first part of my congratulating him on a great interview :)

Ahab on the Air

Our friend Ahab of Call me Ahab will be appearing on Cam and Company tonight at 11PM.  He’ll be talking about the whole CBS fiasco the blogosphere uncovered last week.  We all owe ourselves a pat on the back for getting this story out there.  I’m sure Ahab will make a great spokesman for us.

You can tune in on Sirius “Patriot” 144 or head over to nranews.com.  I’ll definitely be tuning in.

Taking Clayton to Task

Over at The Other Sebastian’s. I’ve said before I don’t agree with Clayton on this stuff. I agree that the people in those pictures are weird (Not work safe, or really safe anywhere. Don’t say I didn’t warn you), and that’s definitely not my kind of fair, but other than thinking they are a few dune buggies, an autogyro, and a big tanker trunk away from making a pretty good movie, it’s not something I’m liable to get too worked up over. I kind of expect San Francisco to be creepy at this point.

But either way, do we know that the majority of the gay community condones this stuff? None of the gay people I know would be caught dead at something like this. I would be wary of painting an entire group of people with so large a brush, lest people do the same to us. I think most gay people are no more S&M freaks than gun owners are government hating militia types.

UPDATE: For the record, if people are into that stuff, I have no problem. By the same token, I don’t really care of a bunch of guys want to get dressed up in fatigues and go play army. Not my kind of thing, but I support people’s right to do either.

“Deal of the Day” Blog

Looks like Cam Edwards is starting up another blog to highlight the “Deal of the Day” feature on his show. I will be adding that to my RSS feed. Hopefully you all will check in as well. I have to admit that I only occasionally have to time to listen to the show, so having that in blog format is certainly helpful.

The “Deal of the Day” feature highlights the failure of our criminal justice system to get criminals off the street, and actually, you know, punish them.
