… back in November of 2008 that in August of 2010, the head of the Brady Center would be upset with President Obama for parroting an NRA line of “better enforcement” I would have said you were nuts, but this is a strange world we live in. Things must be pretty gloomy at Brady HQ these days.

I will make a prediction that will cheer them up. Hillary is going to primary Barry in 2012. After the 2010 elections, she’ll be one of the first off this RMS Titanic of an Administration. She’ll write a book preaching about how incompetent this Administration has been, and sell herself as the savior of modern progressivism. She might even return the Brady’s phone calls. I’m pretty convinced if the GOP takes back the House, she’s going to set herself up to unseat Barry in the 2012 primary.

Andrew Breitbart notes that the media is doing their level best to fix his reputation.

If the sandwich doesn’t convince you to give up your guns, how about a bag of chips? A soda with no refills? Any takers yet? No? Well, I’m just shocked.

Three days later, Richard Pagliarella opened the second location of his Ricci Bros. Hoagies shop on the same corner where Addison was shot multiple times.

Feeling compelled to do something, Pagliarella offered two hoagies, a soda and chips for each firearm brought to the store last week.

“I was hoping we would get one [gun], save one life and have one less gun on the street,” Pagliarella said.

But they received none.

Obama has not named an ATF director, and this is making the Brady folks incensed. You know, I can think of one organization that does have a director, if the Bradys are so concerned about this issue. Would they be willing to join us now in asking Obama to abolish this agency, and fold its functions into the FBI? This is one way I can think of to solve this problem.

… when a rant from a prominent anti-gun group starts out like this:

The National Rifle Association has long perpetuated the myth that Americans are under grave danger from hardened criminals who want to steal their property and exterminate their families.

Yeah, just the other night Wayne came crawling through an open window just to remind me people are out to kill my family, and I should check my gun just in case it’s a real predator.. And naturally, no tale about gun owners would be complete without the anti-gunners mentioning our patron saint, according to them, Timothy McVeigh.

Faced with a movement that is at death’s door, all they have left is anger and lashing out. I almost feel sorry for them. I also really think this passage is fun:

According to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report, only 87 Americans were murdered during burglaries in 2008, despite the fact that only one out of every three American households now has a firearm.

Think maybe those two things might have something to do with each other? Could be, since the US has a much lower rate of burglary while the homeowner is home than most of the rest of the world.

Thirdpower reports that it looks like he’s stopped blogging, presumably because the money has dried up. That’s the problem with astroturfing campaigns — it takes money to keep them going.

I’m guessing typing every word was pure agony, but over on the Brady Facebook, it seems they had to do a bit of “Let’s stay focused” on some of their Facebook Fans:

Every rational person supports that position, except, apparently for the Brady Campaign. What if their core supporters don’t want to “better regulate guns to keep them out of dangerous hands?” Will they keep donating if the best they can hope for is to make all sales go through an FFL?

In other news, it looks like pro-2A voices can get through the “Reasoned Discorse” filter on the weekends when they probably aren’t paying attention.

Is someone keeping an eye on Paul and Josh for signs of depression? Better check their offices for sharp letter openers and heavy blunt objects. Lest they do something rash.

The Republican candidate is falling all over himself to support as much anti-gun legislation as possible. I feel for the lawful gun owners in the district.
