Flaming Assholes of Pennsylvania

According to Fast Eddie’s press staff, if you show up in Harrisburg to tell folks about alternatives to hiking taxes, you’re a “flaming asshole.”  Note that the person insulted was not interrupting the event, just passing out press releases after the press conference.

Our Governor, one who believes we should be worshiping statutes of him on our mantles, is always the epitome of class.

Fast Eddie on Your Mantel

Well, at least if you’re a state worker, it seems the Guv thinks you have so much to thank him for, you should put a statute of him on your mantle.   We’ll see how state workers feel when they are trying to live off promises when they have to work with no pay because Rendell won’t bend on the budget.

Quote of the Day

From Chris Cox on Kirsten Gillibrand:

“She took law-abiding gun owners in upstate New York for a ride and tossed them into the Hudson on her way into Manhattan.”

I guess as a politician, Senator Gillibrand’s positions are entirely negotiable if the reward is great enough.  There’s another profession that’s true about too.

Biden Eases Burden on Secret Service

Our Vice President reminds us on this 101st day of the Obama Administration that we could have, in fact, made a worse electoral decision. Instead of keeping on his talking points about Obama’s “enchanting moments,” he used his time on the Today show this morning to unleash his inner survivalist.

Joe Biden tells Americans that they should no longer take public transportation, fly on commercial airlines, or sit in “enclosed” classrooms. I’m sure that will really help the struggling economy. Politico tells us that the Administration has promised a forthcoming “clarifying statement.” According to one account on Twitter, even the show’s hosts were wondering why Biden just asked America to stop using public transportation.

Straining the Air Force

Glenn Reynolds reports that the US Air Force is having some difficulty moving Obama around with his gigantic entourage.

The large delegation traveling with the president in Europe required moving several transports, including jumbo C-5s and C-17s, from sorties ferrying supplies to Afghanistan to European bases for the presidential visit, said two military officials familiar with the issue.

Just to be clear, that a few of these, and a few of these.  How much luggage are these 500 people taking?
