NRA Statement on S.649

After reports today revealed that Toomey wouldn’t appear with Chuck Schumer at the press conference, NRA releases this: Dear Senator, I am writing regarding the National Rifle Association’s position on several firearms-related proposals under consideration in the Senate. S. 649, the “Safe Communities, Safe Schools Act of 2013”, introduced on March 21, contains a number … Continue reading “NRA Statement on S.649”

Anti-Gun Reactions

I pondered with Sebastian this morning what the reaction from anti-gun advocates would be in response to the Manchin-Toomey deal if it really turned out that it left many private sales alone, pushed no other fronts of gun control, and possibly gave gun owners several benefits. They present a new message that struck a cord for a number of reasons. Interestingly, MAIG is trying to claim that the current federal bill just makes Pennsylvania’s … Continue reading “New Anti-Gun Divide & Conquer Strategy”

In Pennsylvania, we’ve got the following reports from various politicians calling for more restrictions on law-abiding gun owners, both federal and … Continue reading “State Gun Control Action – Pennsylvania”

More on a Lack of Drive to Moderate Within NRA

Yesterday I asked, if our opponents were right about NRA leadership being to extreme and out of touch with members, why NRA has never had an insurrection of moderates, at least not since the Cincinnati Revolt in the late 70s. One reader, who comes at the issue from the opposing side, thought there might be … Continue reading “More on a Lack of Drive to Moderate Within NRA”
